A good place to start

Which EOR should you choose?

For transparent pricing, start with Teamed. Its flat pound fee and published zero FX markup policy make the quote easier to assess. For wider workforce tools, compare Deel. For structured employment workflows, consider Remote.

These are editorial starting points. The table uses reviewed cost and overall scores, with the highest cost rating first.

Reviewed provider ratings. Equal cost ratings use overall score, then alphabetical order. Cost covers more than the starting fee. These are provider-wide assessments, not UK-only performance tests.

How the scores work
Sorted by cost rating, highest first.

FX can change the full bill. A 2.5–3% FX markup on the full £58,062.80 annual employment cost in our example would add £1,451.57£1,741.88 a year. See the FX example.

This is a selected comparison of ten providers, not the whole market. A higher cost rating means a stronger existing cost assessment, not necessarily a lower advertised fee.

A little more detail

Find the right fit for your team.

The useful bits, the trade-offs and the question
to ask before you sign.

Monthly terms with costs to check

Remofirst

Remofirst may suit teams that want monthly EOR terms without an annual commitment. Its low starting service fee needs a closer check of FX, funding and optional charges.

  • A monthly EOR offer without an advertised annual commitment.
  • Employee and payroll administration in one place, with local support.

Worth checking. The headline fee does not settle your total bill. The public EOR material does not establish a fixed FX margin or a standard deposit refund deadline. Country pricing and optional benefits still need a UK quote.

Ask before signingWhat will we fund before the first payroll, and when will any deposit come back?

Our pick for clear pricing

Teamed

Teamed is our first choice to discuss transparent UK pricing. It publishes a flat GBP service fee, a zero FX markup policy and an itemised breakdown of employment costs.

  • Publishes a flat GBP fee and says statutory costs are passed through at cost.
  • Offers a country specialist as a point of contact.

Worth checking. The pricing page also says offboarding within the first three months may carry a fee, despite its general no-exit-fee message. A deposit and the employee’s underlying costs are separate. Treat the no-hidden-fees statement as a provider claim, not an independent guarantee.

Ask before signingConfirm the early-exit exception, deposit refund deadline and zero FX markup in our contract.

A broad workforce platform

Deel

Deel suits companies that want EOR employees, contractors and wider workforce tools together. It has the highest overall provider score in this ten-provider snapshot.

  • Broad integrations reduce the need to move information between systems.
  • Employee and contractor workflows can sit within the same platform.

Worth checking. The service fee is only part of the cost. Currency conversion, payment processing and upfront funding need separate checks. Ask who owns a difficult payroll or invoice issue, and whether your contract includes dedicated human support.

Ask before signingShow us a complete UK invoice and the support arrangements included for our headcount.

Established employment workflows

Remote

Remote is worth shortlisting when a structured employment platform and clear administration matter more than the lowest advertised fee. Its existing cost and overall ratings are both strong.

  • Employment, payroll and employee documents sit in a shared platform.
  • Published support and funding guidance helps buyers plan routine administration.

Worth checking. A higher service fee does not remove currency or cash-flow questions. Remote uses its own monthly FX rate, and the exact margin needs checking. AI availability and human support hours are different; a first-response target is not a promise to resolve the issue.

Ask before signingWhat FX margin and human escalation service are included in our UK agreement?

Distributed teams and employee support

Oyster

Oyster suits distributed teams that value guided employment administration and employee support. Its existing assessment is stronger on platform and payroll features than on headline cost.

  • A shared platform for employment documents, payroll and employee administration.
  • Local guidance can help teams handle benefits and employment questions.

Worth checking. The monthly starting fee is relatively high in this group. Annual discounts can come with prepaid seats and refund restrictions, while benefits and visas can add to the bill. A currency conversion charge may apply when the invoice and contract currencies differ.

Ask before signingWhat do we still owe if this hire leaves before an annual seat ends?

Payroll and payment coordination

Papaya Global

Papaya Global is worth considering when EOR hiring sits alongside a wider payroll and payments programme. Its offering is built around coordinating workforce payments across markets.

  • Payroll and payment information can be brought into a shared system.
  • Local employment support can sit alongside broader workforce reporting.

Worth checking. A starting fee does not establish the cost of your full package. Its exchange-rate policies distinguish EOR funding from payment transfers, so ask which applies. Confirm who resolves a UK payroll issue when local delivery involves another organisation, and what your team must manage.

Ask before signingWhich FX policy, service team and additional fees apply to this UK EOR quote?

Connected HR and IT workflows

Rippling

Rippling is most relevant when your company wants employment, HR and IT workflows connected. That wider platform can be valuable if you will actually use the additional tools.

  • Employee information can connect to onboarding and other internal workflows.
  • A broad platform can reduce duplication across HR and IT administration.

Worth checking. There is no verified public standalone EOR price in this comparison. A low advertised base-platform price should not be treated as the cost of employing someone. Ask for the required platform, EOR service and optional modules as separate lines, with the renewal terms attached.

Ask before signingWhat is our total recurring cost, including every required module, for one UK employee?

Hiring support alongside employment

Remote People

Remote People is worth comparing when you need help finding a hire as well as employing them. Keep the recruitment service separate when comparing its EOR Flex price.

  • Recruitment support is available alongside the employment service.
  • Flex advertises monthly terms without a minimum headcount or setup fee.

Worth checking. The Plus plan’s no-deposit offer has different pricing and eligibility; it should not be assumed for Flex. Recruitment, specialist advice and country-specific benefits can change the total. Ask for one UK scope of work that resolves any differences between marketing and the contract.

Ask before signingWhich Flex charges and deposit apply to our hire, excluding optional recruitment?

Teams comfortable with an annual plan

Multiplier

Multiplier is worth a quote for companies that want a shared employment platform and can plan an annual commitment. Its advertised Core price must be read with the billing condition.

  • Employee information, payroll and employment administration share a platform.
  • The pricing page identifies separate plan levels, making scope easier to compare.

Worth checking. Compliance-related additions and an implementation fee may apply. Terms also leave conversion details to the agreement, so the headline fee cannot establish the total. Compare a complete twelve-month quote with monthly alternatives, particularly if the role or hiring plan may change.

Ask before signingList every mandatory addition, FX charge and amount due if employment ends early.

Testing a low headline price

Native Teams

Native Teams has the lowest advertised starting service fee in this comparison. It belongs on a budget shortlist if a written UK quote confirms the scope and total cost you need.

  • A low entry price makes it worth testing against more expensive quotes.
  • Employment administration and payment tools are available in the wider platform.

Worth checking. The lowest headline price does not produce the highest existing cost rating. Deposit requirements, payment charges and service-specific terms need clarification. Reviews of its wallet and freelance products should not be treated as proof of UK EOR delivery; check who supports your employee.

Ask before signingWhat is the complete UK EOR price, including deposits, payment charges and cancellation terms?

Read the UK hiring guide

What does an EOR actually do?

An employer of record becomes the legal employer of your UK hire and handles agreed employment administration, payroll and statutory obligations. You direct the day-to-day work. Your contract sets out the responsibilities each party keeps.

Which EOR is cheapest for UK hiring?

Native Teams has the lowest advertised starting service fee here. Remofirst and Teamed share the highest cost rating. Neither fact proves the lowest total UK bill: salary, employer costs, FX and your agreed package matter. Compare the full cost.

Does the monthly fee include the employee’s salary?

No. Treat the EOR service fee as one line alongside salary, employer National Insurance, pension contributions and agreed benefits. A refundable deposit affects cash flow and should be shown separately.

Can I move the employee to my own UK company later?

Often, but a transfer needs planning. Ask about employee consent, continuity of employment, notice, data export and transfer charges before signing. The cheapest starting fee may offer less flexibility at the end.

Good decisions start with clear numbers.
